Carol held a contract position as the IT Program/Project Manager at Sun Microsystems servicing the Frontier Communications account. She was hired to bring order and control to a challenging work environment. During her employment, Carol was the key contact person for Sun's project work. Here are some the her key contributions:
- Carol ensured that adequate requirements were defined, Sun resources were assigned, and timelines were tracked for work requests.
- In order to manage the work load, Carol developed a workflow, reviewed with Sun and Frontier Leadership Teams, and revised it based on feedback.
- Carol facilitated weekly status meetings with Sun and Frontier Leadership Teams to:
- review status of top priority efforts
- discuss outstanding issues that needed to be addressed by Leadership
- determine priorities and deadlines for work.
- She was selected to manage Sun's annual disaster recovery preparation activities. Carol ensured success by assembling a team to identify the tasks that needed to be performed, tracking risks and issues as well as progress during the weeks of practice leading up to the event. The coordination resulted in the recovery of the data center being declared a success for the first time.
