Rochester, NY Employment Network
Carol is responsible for starting the Rochester, NY Employment Network with a small core of people in May, 2009. She has successfully grown the volunteer base and continues to chair the committee.
The Rochester, NY Employment Network (the Employment Network) is a forum to help people advance their career or get back to work in the Rochester, NY area by:

Bringing in subject matter experts on assorted career search strategies and
-
Providing the job seeker with tools to assist in their career search
to instill confidence in participants in the network, enabling them to realize their own goals.
To date, the Employment Network has successfully organized and delivered many free events that are open to the public. Our topics have attracted up to 70 people.

International Institute of Business Analysis
The Rochester Chapter is a local chapter of the International Institute for Business Analysis (IIBA®). Carol helped the Rochester Chapter launch in June, 2009 by volunteering on the Professional Development and Communications committees.
IIBA® has become the leading association in the world of business analysis through the creation of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK®), the collection of knowledge within the BA profession, reflecting the current generally accepted practices. We help business analysts develop their skills and further their careers by providing access to unique and relevant content and member forums, as well as through our Endorsed Education Provider (EEP™) Programs.
Carol has been instrumental in developing surveys for Business Analysts interested in joining the local chapter, developing study group formats, as well as communicating events and articles to the Rochester IIBA community.
Carol's continued participation on the committees ensures that the chapter is able to live up to its mission:

Project Management Institute
Carol is a member of the Rochester Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI Rochester). She is preparing for her PMP® certification which is expected to be completed by April, 2010.
PMI Rochester supports PMI® as the world's leading organization for the project management profession. PMI serves practitioners and organizations with standards that describe good practices, credentials that verify knowledge and experience, and resources for professional development, networking and community. PMI Rochester educates those outside the profession about how project management creates success. PMI Rochester advocacy efforts highlight organizations in the region that use project management practices, and the leadership capabilities of professionals in the field, to achieve business results.
PMI Rochester exists to support its members and their profession of project management. PMI Rochester's core purpose is their mission: To advance the practice, science, and profession of project management throughout the region in a conscious and proactive manner.

Rochester Women's Network
Carol has been an active member of the Rochester Women's Network (RWN) since 2007. RWN is a multifaceted forum where women create connections, build relationships and make their mark. RWN is committed to the professional and personal growth of its members.
Over the years, Carol has participated in the IT and Marketing Committees and recently became a member of the Community Service Committee. Her contributions to RWN include:

Writing a "Women at Work" article for publication in the local newspaper.

Testing and implementing new administrative software used by RWN.

Contributing to the monthly newsletter by submitting "Technology Corner" articles.
